Be a Judge at Speech Day
On March 19, 2014, students, alumni, parents, faculty and staff will participate in one of the oldest traditions at STS - Speech Day. We are asking you, our alumni, to get involved and volunteer as a judge. Many of our past alumni judges have referred to this event as the most memorable at STS. Throughout the day, Middle and Senior School students deliver performances in a number of categories including impromptu speeches, poetry recitation, interpretive reading, persuasive speeches and solo and duo acting.
You don’t need previous judging experience to participate; your responsibility will be to rank the speeches individually and agree on the winning speech as a group of three judges. Once we confirm the schedule, a judging assignment will be emailed to you. If you would like to participate, contact Brenda at email@example.com or 403-938-8318.

Alumni connect at Homecoming 2013
Thank you to all who attended Homecoming 2013! More than 200 alumni, including some as far away as Vancouver, Toronto and the United Kingdom, reconnected with classmates and reflected fondly on their years at STS.
We kicked off the weekend with a warm-up cocktail reception held on Friday, September 20, 2013 at the Canmore Opera House in Heritage Park. This was followed by our Homecoming celebration on Saturday, September 21 which included a variety of events at the School.
The first was a family brunch for former faculty/staff, alumni and their families. At the brunch, alumni were called upon to partake in a Tie-tying contest and a fun Reach for the Top competition testing their knowledge on school history and activities from the past. Our notable alumni were then honoured for their contribution to the STS community and for their impressive successes in a variety of career areas. Following brunch, guests were invited to attend the unveiling of the Nil Nisi Optimum notable alumni wall.
After the morning activities, we offered school and trail walking tours, games for children, and held rugby and field hockey games which saw alumni pitted against the senior varsity teams. Class parties were then held throughout the city – seeing friends from graduating years in the 3s and 8s reconnect.
STS would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to class reps that made Homecoming 2013 the success it was. Thank you Pam Heard ’73, Craig Harding ’78, Steve Trimble ’83, Rick Weissenborn ’88, Brandy James ’93, Emeline Lamond ’93, Ciara Glendon ’98, Jillian Wyne ’98, Kathryn Sweett ’03, Mark Le Dain ’08, Beth McFarlane ’08 and Tom Hansen’08 for your time and energy in organizing your reunion class parties which were all well attended.
