Every family - every year - make a difference to STS

Every year, every member of the STS community is asked to give a charitable donation to the School for one simple reason: your gift enriches student learning.

Annual giving plays a vital role in supporting enhanced learning that the STS operating budget alone cannot support.

We have an ambitious goal this year - $500,000 and 100% participation - and we can't do it without you. Just as every family is asked to give, every student will benefit from your generosity.

To date, we have raised $492,667.00 or 98 percent of our goal. If you have not already made a contribution, please help us to reach or even surpass our goal which is well within reach. We have had 100 percent donor participation from our Board of Governors and our Senior Leadership Team, 50 percent participation from our faculty, and 40 percent from our parents.

You can donate online, download the STS Giving Form to mail your gift or call our Director of Advancement, Caroline Banadar, at 403-938-8344. Learn more by downloading the STS Annual Fund brochure.

Please support one of these three priorities:

Forest Learning Centre, Aspen Lodge
With funds raised through STS community annual giving over the past two years, combined with the proceeds from the incredibly successful POSTS-organized Black Watch 2014 event, we have reached our $340,000 goal and the Aspen Lodge project is now fully funded.

Centre for Excellence in Teaching
Our goal is to further develop the best teachers with inspiring speakers and professional development - all with the end goal of benefiting our students' learning.

Scholarships and Bursaries
We honour talented young students with hearts of character to achieve their dreams. Their leadership enhances the learning experience of our entire school community.

Community Quotations

“The STS outdoor education and athletics programs were paramount to my experience at STS and opened other doors beyond school. They helped shape my love of the outdoors and physical activity, which has in turn formed the basis of the family life we have created for our daughters. It is a pleasure to support these programs, to ensure the same exceptional opportunities for STS students today and well into the future.”
~ Dana (Mendham) Lougheed ‘90, alumna and STS parent

"The possibilities are endless with our outstanding country campus. The hands-on learning opportunities students experience outside of the classroom offer a balanced and healthy lifestyle. The legacy created by giving to the Strathcona-Tweedsmuir School Annual Fund benefits all our children and future students."
~ Art and Darlene Northcott, STS Parents

"Robust Professional Development (PD) is key for developing excellence in teaching and learning. Faculty integrate new knowledge into their teaching practices. PD helps attract and retain high quality teachers who are committed to being the best in their profession while ensuring that STS remains a premier independent school."
~ Trevor Julian, Assistant Head, Academics, and Middle School Principal

“Receiving the Forever Woods Scholarship has provided me with the opportunity to enter and be an active participant within this community. Along with outstanding academics, the school has provided me with numerous opportunities such as OE, speech, debate and an exchange program. The Forever Woods Scholarship has allowed me to strive to my fullest potential and participate in programs which will assist me in my future endeavors.”
~ Ali Poonja ’12

“We wanted to nurture the musical arts at STS, which led to the idea of enabling an annual music development project. Brian Uzick brought that idea to life and the results over the first three years have been remarkable, creating a legacy for future STS students and parents to enjoy.”
~ Ted and Diana Rozsa, STS Parents
